Carlton Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir
Carlton Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant example of our most famous grape here in the valley. True expression of Pinot grown in Yamhill Carlton AVA. Willikenzie soils dominate the region which are sedimentary (ancient seafloor) with loam and streaks of volcanic soils running through it. The soil is well drained which helps with stressing the vines and ripening the clusters. In the glass this translates to a nose of ripe fruit notes of blueberry, raspberry, dark cherry with savoury hints of baking spices and cigar box. The Palette is well balanced with a delicate concise richness.

Carlton Hill - Yamhill Carlton AVA, 420-450ft elevation, planted in 1999.
After an early morning hand harvesting as two separate lots, the Pinot Noir grapes were destemmed with 25% stems added back by weight into the vineyard specific fermenters. The wines natively went through primary and secondary fermentation and were pressed when dry. Aged in neutral French Oak barrels for fifteen months before blending and bottling.
