In the glass it is clear garnet color that can be seen through, and the tears slowly drip down the sides. The nose shows red fruit, white pepper, tobacco, and red current. Mouth feel is concise and deliberate tannins are well integrated. Finish lingers.
Plated in 1999 at 1600 foot elevation sustainably farmed this vineyard sits a top of Debbanger-Brader loams, Gregory silty soil typical of the area.
Fruit was destemmed upon receipt and full unbroken grapes were put into two amphora 10% of stems were added back. Fermentation was allowed to occur naturally, and post fermentation maceration was long. 18-month elevage in neutral oak
